“Bra Zinga” hospitalized in Bara
Iconic award winning South African poet, author, wordsmith, journalist, public speaker, anti-apartheid activist, peace crusader and raconteur Dr. Donato Francisco Mattera, better known as Bra “Don” Mattera has been hospitalized.
He was admitted to The Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital on Saturday. It appears that he may have had a slight stroke but it is yet to be confirmed by the physicians.
His son and Deputy Chair of The Don Mattera Legacy Foundation on behalf of the Mattera family, Dr Teddy Mattera said, “My dad had limited use of his arms and we immediately decided to admit him to hospital. He is in a stable condition, in good spirits and receiving the necessary treatment as prescribed by the medical staff”.
The Don Mattera Legacy Foundation who is entrusted with the protection of Don Mattera’s legacy, will update the public on his recovery and has called on South Africans to keep Don and his family in their prayers and dua’s.
