The Don Mattera Legacy Foundation
We are driven by a single goal; to ensure the preservation of the literary works and memory of Dr Don Mattera, a legendary South African poet, wordsmith, journalist, public speaker, political activist, peace crusader and raconteur. To ensure that the rich legacy of Dr. Mattera stay integral for future generations to recognize and appreciate the immense sacrifice and contribution that he has made on behalf of all South Africans in the realm of literature, arts, journalism and the liberation of South Africa.

The Second Annual Don Mattera Legacy Lecture
Gautrain Management Agency Children's Book Launch
Dr Don Mattera launched a childrens book, Yolisa's Map on the 15th September 2020 during a live book read on Zoom. The children's book is meant to spread awareness of the service offering of the Gautrain Management Agency, but at the same time inculcating a culture of reading.

The second Don Mattera Annual Lecture was held at the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel in Sandton, Jhb on 27th May 2023.. The Gautrain Management Agency again partnered with us to deliver on this auspicious event. .

THE DON MATTERA COMMUNITY CELEBRATION & FOUNDATION LAUNCH
Beginning of an era
The COMMUNITY CELEBRATION on the 1st February 2020 marked the official launch of The Don Mattera Legacy Foundation with the theme “Communities Honoring Don Mattera”. The Foundation aims to recognize and appreciate the immense sacrifice and contribution that Dr Mattera has made in the realm of literature, arts, journalism and the liberation of South Africa.
The evening was a roaring success with world class musicians and poets entertaining the packed hall. Artist present were:
Legendary Musician Pops Mohammed & Friends together with Poet Lebo Mashile,
Poets Glen Ujebe Masokoane and Bothata Paul Khabo – performing as ZANJ, Kgafela Oa Magogodi, Lebo Mashile and Jazz Maestro Khaya Mahlangu
